Engage

Beyond educating men, MensWork believes it is critical to engage men as partner and allies in responding to and preventing sexual and domestic violence.  We welcome men to become a part of our organization.

In addition to joining MensWork, we also provide regular trainings to the community on how to educate men and boys about domestic and sexual violence, and gender respect and healthy relationships.  We specifically strive to reach men with those efforts so that men are able to talk with other men, thus becoming allies to stop sexual and domestic violence.

MensWork strives to develop male youth leadership around these issues.  We continue to develop our programs to engage male youth as leaders in responding to and preventing dating abuse and sexual harassment/assault, including male adolescents as peer educators.

As we continue to develop, we are also exploring ways that we can have a positive impact, by engaging men, on the policy level (both locally and state-wide).

MensWork also engages men in their already existing organizations and groups.  Many men already belong to groups (Kiwanis, Lions, fraternities, sports clubs, ManKind Project as well as through their faith communities).  Rather than trying to get men to join our group, we work with these other groups to explore ways that can address and work to prevent sexual and domestic violence.
