What We Do
MensWork focuses on projects, programs and activities to educate, engage and organize men to be a part of the solution to sexual and domestic violence. We provide a range of educational programs (middle school, high school, faith based, community groups, professionals) that are designed specifically for the audience or partner with whom we’re working.
We also work with already existing group of men to explore ways that they can respond to, address or work to prevent sexual and domestic violence.
Finally, we initiate organizing efforts that are designed specifically to speak to men, or speak on behalf of men to end sexual and domestic violence. For example, we organize a number of events for Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
We are actively involved in a number of community groups throughout the area including:
Clark/Floyd County (IN) Domestic Violence Task Force
Louisville Trafficking Task Force
SafeHavens
We also launched LIFTED (the Louisville InterFaith Taskforce to Eliminate Domestic Violence) and an interagency prevention committee.
We serve the following counties in Kentucky and Southern Indiana:
KY: Jefferson, Bullit, Shelby, Oldham, Spencer
IN: Scott, Clark, Floyd, Harrison, Washington, Jefferson
