MensWork is also actively involved in, and taking leadership, nationally and internationally to prevent sexual and domestic violence, engage men, and in other ways. MensWork is currently:
- On the interim steering committee for the North America MenEngage Network (MenEngage is an international umbrella organization of men and men’s organizations from around the world involved in promoting gender equality and gender justice. The North America network will consist of individuals, and organizations in Canada, the US and Mexico). www.menengage.org
- On the Global Steering Committee of Mobilizing Men for Violence Prevention (www.mincava.umn.edu/mmvp/)
- Forming a national working group on Engaging Men to Combat Sex Trafficking (in partnership with the Chicago Alliance Against Sexual Exploitation (www.caase.org)
- Working with the National Center on Domestic and Sexual Violence (www.ncdsv.org) to create a national body of the state domestic violence coalitions that will work with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other federal bodies, national organizations and major funders to promote and expand our efforts to prevent sexual and domestic violence.
We are also invited to speak and train throughout the Country, in Canada, Mexico and elsewhere. We recently, for example,
- Keynoted the 4th international conference of Peace and Security in the Christian Home held in Abbotsville, Canada
- Offered a keynote prsentation and several workshop at the Oklahoma Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Violence Conference
- Provided a plenary at the national Batterer’s Intervention Conference hosted by BISCMI in Michigan (http://www.biscmi.org/)
- among others
