One in three teenagers will be affected by dating violence
Dads play a critical role in supporting our sons and daughters to be the kind of people we hope they will be. MensWork helps to support dads of teenagers to “raise our daughters to be strong and empowered women, and raise our sons to be the kind of men that we would want our daughters to marry.”
Dads can have a profound impact on helping our sons and daughters to be prepared to flirt and date with respect — and engage in respectful and nonviolent dating relationships. Furthermore, most dads are opposed to dating violence. Problematically, however, few dads are actively involved in supporting their sons and daughters to flirt and date with respect. MensWork, develops programs to help dads to feel more confident and competent to engage in these conversations with our sons and daughters.
MensWork also helps to organize dads to take leadership in our community to combat dating violence. As a group, dads can have a tremendous impact in local schools, neighborhoods, youth service organizations, churches and synagogues, even our state legislature in making our our communities safer for all youth.
